What Is The Bible?
The Bible is an incredible collection of books written thousands of years ago by people who had a
friendship with God.
The Bible tells us itself that these special men were helped by God to write down the message he had for
his special created people - humans.
The Bible can be difficult to understand - there's quite a lot of it - and it isn't presented to us in the order
things actually happened, so it can be quite confusing.
But the important thing to remember is that the Bible is one big story!
It's the story of how God will take his special creations (us!) from the old Eden (the Garden we hear about in Genesis) to the new Eden (Heaven).
Why? Because of his love for his creation, everything in it and especially us!
The first Eden was not perfect because sin came into the world (listen to the story series 'The Beginning'). But the new Eden will be perfect! And
even better, the journey that God is taking us on will not end once we get to Heaven - we will get to live and enjoy Gods new perfect creation -
forever!
Remember, everything that happens in the Bible is part of that big story. So if there's a bit of the Bible you don't understand always ask yourself,
'How does this fit into the big story?'. That should help you make a good start in getting into the Bible. And if you get stuck, ask somebody you
know who knows lots about the Bible, or even send Howy a question and he'll try to help!
Enjoy finding out about how much God loves you!
